Why Does My House Smell Like Chlorine After I Turned On Central Air Conditioning?

We moved into a new house in December and turned on the central air conditioning for the first time last week. Now my house smells a bit like chlorine. I believe this is due to the refrigerant. But will the smell go away after a while, or do I have to do something about this?
