How could i repair or adjust a 3speed bicycle hub?

If it’s not to hard could it be torn apart and cleaned,then reajusted?

Posted by: | CommentsI have an older royce union mountain bike. Yes, I know its a POS but my late father gave it to me— so I really want to fix it and use it as my main bike (i really like the frame). The lower idler on the derailer is bad, it was shifting funny when it was rideable, the pedals are broke and I think it needs new brakes. I would also like a newer, more comfy seat.
Now, I know NOTHING about repairing bikes. I dont really want to pay a shop since that will be expensive. I want to outfit this bike with newer, better parts. But I have no idea where to start, what will fit, are all the sizes the same for bike parts? Totally lost here.

Posted by: | CommentsI have a mongoose XR-75. Not really relevant but oh well.
It has a flat tire(back tire), the gears are messed up(they don’t switch right), the brakes dont work, the suspension squeaks every time i go over a bump.
So basically the bike would need a new inner tube, new brakes, new suspension(or if it can be fixed then that would be better), new gears(or fix them) on the handle bars. Any idea how much that would cost if i took it to a bike shop? thanks

How much to replace a rear hub on a bicycle?
Posted by: | CommentsI have this real cheap mountain bike from Walmart and the rear hub seems to either need adjustment or needs to be replaced. How much would this cost if I took it to a bicycle repair shop for a cheap mountain bike?
Bicycle chain and gears messed up….ANY PRICE?
Posted by: | CommentsI was in Brooklyn this morning to take a ride, after half a block Im shifting gears and the chain goes out the gear, and suddenly something happenes to the whole metal thing that holds the chain on the back wheel, it gets screwed up and contorted till the point that gets stuck in the wheel’s spokes….now I don’t know if this means I ave to change the whole thing and it has just to be fixed on the spot…I just knopw that the guy who repairs this stuff near my house is a f….thief….and I don’t wanna go there unprepared…do you think Im gonna have to change the whole gear system? How much would it cost? and what would be a reasonable price for just fixing it without changing? thank you

Posted by: | CommentsLast night, some ghetto idiot stole the back tire off of my bicycle. I left it chained to a bike rack in a gated area, but I did not chain the back tire to the rack or the rest of the bike. Someone came up to it with tools and took the back tire. It is a 15 speed mountain bike with 26″ tires. How much is a new tire? Can I get one used? Where (besides the obvious bike repair stores) can I get one? Can anyone at least give me an estimate? Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
PS What is the best kind of bike lock?
I do mean that they took the entire back wheel.
It might be interesting to try, but I recently found out that they have done this before at this bike rack and they probabily know how much they can get for it.
how do i fix my bicycle gears?
Posted by: | Commentsi have an old fuji espree, its a nice bike but i cant get it to ride smoothly. is there anything i can do to fix the gears from making that crunching sound? i really dont want to take it in to a shop…last time the repairs ended up costing more than the bike!
