Small Roof Leak In A Valley – What To Do?
We have a roof leak since at least April that we have tried fixing with caulk. We have finally scheduled to have the whole roof replaced in the next week or so. The problem is that where the leak is the drywall is damaged (warped and discolored slightly) at the top of the wall and halfway down the wall. I’m assuming we need to replace and patch this section. The other issue that I’m concerned about is in the attic. We have blown-in insulation and it is difficult to step anywhere up there. Unfortunately, we can’t really see the area where the leak is too well from the access hole. There are no signs of mold, but I’m wondering what to do about that area and how bad the insulation is damaged (if at all?). Since we’re spending all the money on the roof and drywall, I want to solve this problem as cost efficiently as possible and don’t know if I’m worrying for nothing here or not. Thanks!
