Repairing a laptop charger cord, question about the wire?

Ok, so I’m fixing the cable, which was severed. From what I’ve researched, it’s a co-axial cable, so has one wire, a dielectric insulator (I still have only a vague idea what this does TBH) and another wire.
If I solder the inner wire, apply heat-shrink tubing to replace the dielectric insulator, and soldier the outer wires, will this work? I don’t want to short out my laptop when I plug this in.
Anyboy with more experience willing to help answer my question?

Yes that will work just fine. I’ve done it a few times. make sure you have a good solder joint and the two wires are insulated and you will be golden.
Co-axial cable is not a power supply type of lead?
It is a cable for ‘low loss’ of signals
could this be what your using? if so what you say is fine to do so long as you make the inner core fully insulated from the outer
Will not work you need to find another cord to take a dielectric insulator and replace the old one then you should try it!
get a new one
My suggestion: Get a new charger. If you are not as skilled as you should be to make repairs, I would suggest you get a replacement charger. I know people that have repaired chargers and save a bit of money but when they use the charger, the motherboard burnt out on them.
So honestly, I tell this to a lot of people but when you have a bad charger, its best to just replace it instead of repairing.
I would recommend you visit Topmic. Topmic is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it at no additional cost as many times needed, for life.
This is a great way to save money in the long run and a good investment.
You should ne able to find them online through google search.
Best of luck.
