My Television Has Problems Turning On?

I purchased a Magnovox 32″ HDTV about 3 or 4 months ago. The TV is having problems turning on. When it first happened, I disconnected it from the outlet it was connected to, and plugged it in another outlet, it worked for a while, but the problem resurfaced. I the,n changed the extension that it was connected to; again, it worked for a while, but the problem resurfaced. My hunch is that the electricity in the building is too low, because the Television was working good until it started to get hotter, I noticed that even the light is a bit dimmer than usual.
