I Have A 1989 Polaris Snowmobile. It Wont Stay Running. Lines Dry. Runs With Starter Fluid For 30seconds Only.?

when i put starter fluid in it runs for a very short amount of time. then shuts down. it sat for two years and i don’t know how to fix it. what could be wrong.
