How much should I charge to paint half a basement and a bedroom?

I have to paint half a basement (about normal size) and a bedroom (once again about normal size). I dont have the dimensions or anything. What is a good price range? Everything will be there I just have to paint. HELP!

Have a local painter come in and give you a free estimate. That way you can get an idea and charge way less of course.
Figure out how much the paint and materials will cost you and the figure out how much you want to charge per hour for labor and add it all up.
Paint ideas for pricing depends on how many coats it’s going to take, and that depends on what color walls are you painting over. If you’re painting over a dark color like navy blue for example it may take up to 4 coats of paint including primer to cover it. (found out the hard way
Are ceilings being painted also? add that in. If you’re going over bare drywall, it will need more paint too and at least one coat of good primer, and if you have to do baseboards and doors with enamel paint, that will take several hours to tape everything and paint one coat.
Figure out roughly how much time it will take: to tape the walls with painters tape, apply x # of coats of primer, and paint, plus clean up time.
I am not a painter, but a do it yourself-er, and it would take me a couple days to do that much space correctly with at least one coat of primer and two coats of paint. You may get away with one coat of paint but have to touch up missed spots.
A pro painter would charge at least $30.-$50. per hour for his time and maybe $15-20 for a helper, so if you only charged $20-25. an hour their getting a bargain. 2 eight hour days = $325.-$400. If you had to also paint baseboards, window trim, doors and ceilings, I’d add in at least another $150-$300. depending on how complicated the trim work is.
Hope that helps
Estimate the number of hours it will take and multiply that by your hourly rate. Hourly rate for non-professional is about $10.
Spray, roll, brush will take different times to complete, including prep and clean up.
30-40$ /hr
It is hard to guess because you dont have the dimensions. Generally the painters charge 30$ to 40$/h, but it depends upon the no. of coats which you should be given to wall. Also light color want more coats than dark color.
