How much does it cost to repair a car door scratch that was made with a key?

I was just curious. About how much would it cost for a mechanic to fix that?

Free at dealership if new, and $20 at a good mechanic
I just saw an info commercial on a pen you can use for 19.95 plus shipping and handling. Probably can find the same pen at wal-mart for less.
How deep and how wide? Might be able to do it yourself.
If it’s not to the primer, a good polish (that’s polish and not wax) and some elbow grease can get it out. You can do it when it’s at the primer also if it’s not too wide, but that takes rubbing compound and have to be careful. I polish my whole car every spring with a 6” rotary orbital polisher and 9 years later no one can believe it’s that old. Removes all light scratches, matt spots, and spiderwebs.
But to answer your specific question
, you can also check out car detailer shops. Shops that specialize in fancy full car polishes etc. but most of them are pretty casual and will help out with a scratch. Just ask what they think, making paint look good is what they do. One thing, depending on the age of your cars paint and the care, the fixed spot might look better than the rest due to the polish.
Fine Details is one place I know.
Cheers
