How can you remove droops of dry hairspray from CD’s?

I’ve tried everything, and the dried-up hairspray is not coming off. I think what happened was, I was spraying my hair, unaware of the CD being near me, and of course the CD got “sprinkled with it” Now it won’t come off…..I’ll try anything if anyone has ideas. I have tried alcohol, CD repair kits, etc. I don’t have a CD Doctor kit yet, so that option is out. Any suggestion would be APPRECIATED. I’m singing at church, and I really want to do this song.

alcohol
try nail polish remover!
goo gone! it works!
take a damp clothe and from the middle outward in a circular motion wipe it
I would try alchohol and put it on Q-tips and rub very softly.
I clean all of my CDs and DVDs using just Windex. Make sure you do not rub in a circle, go from the inside of the circle to the outside.
peanut butter?
did u try windex?
use rubbing alcohol. it preserves the cd while cleaning it.
iv heard if you put your cds in warm water wont do them any harm, try that ………….if you dont want to risk it try it first with a old cd ,drip hairspray on it let it dry them put it inwarm water .what harm can it do
I’d suggest trying nail polish remover or some contact cleaner and a soft cloth
The best and most obvious solvent to use is the hairspray itself.
Just spray the CD with the hairspray, and wipe it off with a clean, lint-free cloth before it dries again.
If you want to, though, I also recommend using WD-40 spray lubricant as a solvent for just about anything that comes out of a spray bottle. It even dissolves enamel spray paint, and keeps whatever it dissolves suspended in lubricant so that it can’t reattach to the surface you’re removing it from, and you can just wipe it off.
the hairspray probably has eaten into the outer material. it may not completely come off. alcohol is usually the best remedy for sticky things on cds (we have kids and know this for sure), but never have had the hairspray issue. have you tried to contact a cd distribution place or a computer specialist that might be able to help with data recovery? essentially a cd is nothing more than data on a disk… may be worth a phone call. good luck.
Baby wet wipes! Trust me it works.
