Why isn’t my oven working?
Posted by: | CommentsWe have a two year old Frigidaire gas range. The oven stopped working today. The stove top burners are all working. I had set the oven to preheat and when I went to put my food in, it was cold. I didn’t smell any gas and the oven light and all of the electrical (time and temp, controls) are working. Before we call for service, is there any simple things that we can check for? My husband is fairly handy and would like to see if he can fix it before we call someone.
A second part to my question… Is Frigidaire really as bad as I have been reading? We bought the appliances because it was a great package deal at the time and haven’t had many problems. Our dishwasher is not the best, but we knew that when we bought it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had trouble with that brand, and if we should expect to keep having things break! Thanks!
How can I resolve my problems with Sears and or Kenmore?
Posted by: | CommentsHere is the unbelievable story. My husband and I purchased a Kenmore stackable washer and dryer about 5 years ago. We also purchased a Kenmore stainless steel side by side fridge 5 years ago, Kenmore stainless steel glass top range 2 years ago and Frigidaire stainless steel dishwasher 2 years ago. The first thing to go out was our washing machine. We called a repair person out who wanted around $300 to repair it. That was 6 months ago. Since January 1, 2010 all of our other appliances have broken. Next was the fridge our ice maker stopped working. Not a big deal, but we did enjoy our automatic ice maker. My husband noticed water on the floor and after investigation realized our fridge was also leaking. In fact it had gone unnoticed for sometime and leaked under our new pergo floors. Which of course we had to tear out. Within this week our dishwasher started leaking, our dryer only blows cold air, and now our oven won’t turn on. The range top still works, but our oven and broiler are out. I have contacted Sears, which is where we purchased our items, and they said they would repair our appliances, but that we had to pay a service fee and parts. Can anyone think of anything we can do? It does not feel right for us to repair all of these items as they are top of the line and new. Any help would be very appreciated!
Thank you to all of you for your help! I will start calling Kenmore, Sears, and BBB right away! Like you guys said the squeeky wheel gets oiled! So to speak!
Update:
I just got off the phone with Sears they offered us a flat rate $389.00 for labor and the cost of parts. I still don’t feel this is fair as we did nothing to cause this damage. Am I expecting more than I should?

Can anyone provide me with a good, working link to an appliance schematic?
Posted by: | CommentsMy dryer is a front loader Frigidaire, model number FEQ332ESO. The belt went out a few days ago, (ugh).. so I found the part, purchased it, but now I *really* need a schematic for the dryer itself. I found a few links online claiming to have one, but I can’t find this particular dryer. Any help, advice, or especially links would be *greatly* appreciated!!
