Windows Vista question please?
Posted by: | CommentsHow can I turn off the desktop tool tips in Windows Vista Home edition?
For example, every time I unplug external speakers from my laptop, I get a little tool-tip message above the speaker icon in the system tray of the task bar. It says “You just unplugged a device from the audio jack”. Duh?
I already know I unplugged the speakers so I don’t need the computer to tell me. The message is annoying and remains until I click it off.
Can anyone tell me how to disable this feature? I cannot find it in Windows Help or Control Panel.
Thanks in advance.

Here is another question… Why does someone who is completely clueless bother to leave a worthless and stupid opinion instead of a legitimate answer. First of all, most people are not stupid enough to route their speaker cords where they might be tripped over. Next, my particular laptop I ask about has the audio jack on the very front panel, in plain view. Even if it were hidden, I would not be so confused as to “pull out my hair” assessing why I have no sound while watching YouTube. It’s not that difficult unless one has the IQ of a chimpanzee. Only a drooling moron would leave such an answer, ending it with a perfectly useless comment such like, “that warning is there for a reason you know”.
Useless, worthless, stupid… just like the over-obvious tool tips on Windows Vista desktop
