I just rewired my house and accidentally sent too much power to my gas furnace. (We ran wire for electric furnace but realized our error, changed the wire but forgot to switch the circuit breaker to a lower amperage.)

There was a pop when we turned it on, but I couldn’t find any burn damage in the circuit board or anywhere else. The fuse is still good. I fixed the power issue and tried again, but to no avail. I can’t find a reset button and can’t find any physical signs of damage.

I’m going to replace the fuse (just because) and will keep searching for a reset button, but until then I’m without a furnace.

Any ideas?

Furnace Issue?

Posted by: | Comments (3)

We have a gas furnace that keeps popping the “limit switch” when we force it to run. We have to crank the thermostat up to the 80s to get it to run, then when it does run, it will not shut off on its own and it pops the switch. We replaced the thermostat thinking that it might be the problem, but it wasn’t. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It is starting to get into colder weather here and we need our furnace. Thank you all in advance!
It is just the heating, not hooked up to any cooling system.

When I shut the unit off and turn it back on its will work again for a while until I have to repeat the process. The unit is in my 1998 Coleman pop up camper. Do you think it the Thermostat that needs to be replaced or something else ?

My furnace is gas.LP to be exact. When I turn up the thermostat, the inducer blower comes on, the ignitor gets warm and glows….but the main burner does not ignite.Of course the ignitor goes through this 3 times then shuts down. The diagnostic indicator flashes just once, pauses and then once….over and over.Could this be a problem with the outlet pressure? If so what can I do to check it?I think I can remove the small clear hose that connects the inducer blower to the outlet pressure thing….and blow in it slightly to hear if it pops.I would remove it from the inducer blower…correct?
Any advice would be appreciated.
OK, I had cleaned the dust out of it before I asked this question but that didn’t help. After the advice of checking the gas came up, I decided to do that. But of course just by turning the valve inside the furnace off for about 30 seconds or so and then turning it back on.It turned the switch to the power for the furnace back on,it lit,ignited..and blew hot air! Now for how long it will work I don’t know but everyone’s advice was helpful….thanks

I have based board heaters that are fed off of my Boiler. They work in several rooms of my house but not in others. Who should I contact to inspect and repair the problem? It is a Oil Heating System and uses hot water to heat the house.

How do I receive the home heating credit?

Posted by: | Comments (1)

I used turbo tax, and have for years. For the past few years it has told me that I will receive a Home Heating Credit. However, I have never actually received anything. Is there an extra form that I need to actually send in manually to receive the credit? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Sorry, I forgot to mention. This is for Michigan state taxes.
