Computer Hardrive Replaced and iTunes is gone?
Posted by: | CommentsWe got our computer “repaired” but along with it went my hardrive and all 2,000 songs I had on my iTunes. The music is still on my ipod (5th generation 80gb video). I know that iTunes only goes from my computer to my iPod and it is almost impossible to put the songs back in my library through my iPod. Are there any music players compatable with an iPod that will allow me to restore my songs without going through all my cds and borrowing my friends cds again!?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
How to re-install XP on acer laptop without CD’s (has PQSERVICE Partition however)?
Posted by: | CommentsI can’t boot the laptop, it keeps rebooting while attempting to load one of the .sys files. From what I can see, the reinstall software is on the hardrive FAT partition. How can I get to it, so I can start the reinstall to factory setup?
ook. First off, no floppy drive, haven’t had one of them for about 10 years.
I have another XP CD (dell), but I want to run the ACER reinstall, so it sets it up as it would have been when I received it.
Can I use the Dell XP CD, to run the reinstall that in the ACER PQSERVICE partition?

What recovery option? Where is this at, and how do I get to it?
what is the easiest backup software for windows XP?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m looking for a easy to understand backup program for my computer. I am a complete nerd and I don’t understand the computer technical lingo. Also, when a hardrive crashes,(it’s happened twice to me so far) where should I have the backup to use when it happens again. Some say to have it on a partition of your hardrive but doesn’t that partition also go ka-putt too? How do I learn the workings of a computer so I can better understand the technical aspects of it?
Will a previously used 20GB hardrive work on a new Xbox?
Posted by: | CommentsMy Xbox 360 premium package (Xbox 360, wireless controller, all the wires, 20GB, etc.) has worked for 2 years. It failed and I don’t want to repair it and have to go through the whole process because its old and i beleive if i repair it, the same thing may happen again. So my plan is to buy a new 200.00$ xbox arcade system, just to get a new xbox. With this in mind, i want to keep the old 20GB hardrive from my old Xbox and plug it in to use with the new xbox i plan on purchasing. Does this sound like a plan that could work?
Good software to lock root directory and files?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a multiple partitioned hardrive and I would like to secure an entire root drive and all the sub-folders and files within. I’d like a program that can set a password to this drive so no one can access it but me.
Any ideas?

Hardrive help? Please read?
Posted by: | CommentsI bought my laptop back in April, so it is still under warranty for HP…what happened was I dropped on the floor (not from high up, just slightly) so now my laptop will not turn on. There is no physical evidence that it was dropped–no cracked screen or anything.
Thats not a problem, I am just going to send it to HP so they will fix it.
My problem is, when I do that, they will wipe my hardrive clean…Since my computer wont turn on, how am I supposed to get the files off of there before I send my laptop in to be repaired?
Am I supposed to take my hardrive out and send it somewhere? What are my options?
Im very sure my hardrive was not damaged, it honestly barely hit the floor, and it was just a corner of the laptop, not near the hardrive

all right heres what happend
1: unplugged all drives
2: set dvd drive to master slot 1
3: set fudgeed 500 gb hardrive to slave slot 0
4: set spare 60 gb hardrive to master slot 0
5: booted from xp cd
6: no os to be repaired.. so i cant use recovery. when the hardrive got fudgeed it must have erased everything
7: said fudge it..
8: put 500 gb external at master slot 3
9: 60 gb hardrive at master slot 0
10: f’d hardrive at slave slot 0
11: dvd burner at master slot 1
12: cd burnre at slave slot 1
13: delete fried partition on f’d 500 gb
14 create partition on it
15: error: it says it doenst contain a windows xp compatable partition WHAT THE FUCK….
16: delete partition
17: create partition on 60 gb
18: format with quick option
19: format complete
20: computer restarts
21:loads forever 5 minutes
22: installing windows apears

24: computer restarts
25: BOOTS TO XP!!! IT WORKED
26: control panal – admin tools – comp manage – format f’d hardrive
27: format complete
28: drive is marked as a healthy partition
29: put a few files on partiion on fudgeed hardrive
30: reboot
31: still there (hardrive works?)
32: reboot
33: boot from cd
34: format 60 gb
35: installl xp on f’d hardrive
36: it installs
37: computer restarts
38: boots to black screen…
the reason i used a 60 gb hardrive is because if f’d hardrive is set in master slot it crashes when booting from cd so i belive it is a hardware issue…
i did what you said and it quits booting at verifying dmi pool data……
