Bicycle repair shop approx. price?

I have a mongoose XR-75. Not really relevant but oh well.
It has a flat tire(back tire), the gears are messed up(they don’t switch right), the brakes dont work, the suspension squeaks every time i go over a bump.

So basically the bike would need a new inner tube, new brakes, new suspension(or if it can be fixed then that would be better), new gears(or fix them) on the handle bars. Any idea how much that would cost if i took it to a bike shop? thanks

    Definately over $100.

    Maybe even up to $200.

I suggest you learn how to do the repairs yourself and save a lot of money, but if you don’t have the confidence in your mechanic skills, take it to a shop.

The inner tube you could do better replacing yourself.

Brakes are very simple things, hardly anything can go wrong with them. If they don’t work, you need to adjust them, replace the cables if they are corroded inside the housing, or replace the pads. There is nothing on the brakes that you couldn’t do and get them working better than new.

Shifters, cables, gears, derailleurs and chain need to be clean and oiled for them to work properly. If you don’t do that, any bike will get messed up in a few months. Even the most expensive bike, you still have to maintain it.

I don’t know about the suspension. In 50 years never used one, but I understand some of them can be serviced.

I suggest you fix the tire and the brakes. Them clean adn oil the power group. If that doesn’t fix it, you could take it to the shop or try replacing the cables and adjusting the derailleurs.

For the suspension get it checked at the shop.
